Cloud monitoring importance on the rise
Despite all the promises of the cloud, decision-makers and IT departments need to implement robust security tools and practices to ensure the virtual environments are safe from malicious individuals. Although there are many ways to do so, leveraging cloud monitoring tools can be a significant help, according to a CloudTweaks report.
Cloud computing monitoring tools provide individuals with greater visibility into the network. As a result, IT departments can detect and address any anomalies in the system, mitigating a number of potential security concerns, the news source said. The act of doing so is becoming increasingly important as the cloud market expands and the number of devices used to access the cloud grows.
A separate report by Infonetics Research noted that the market for cloud security is forecast to increase 83 percent by 2016.
"As the variety of devices, platforms, and apps grows and properly securing them becomes more complex, so grows demand for managed security services, even in the midst of some lingering economic malaise," said Jeff Wilson, principal analyst for security at Infonetics Research.
As cloud hosting services approaches global adoption, decision-makers need to leverage monitoring solutions to ensure next-generation solutions and environments remain protected and perform efficiently.
